Rate My 'Mog! Submission Rule Book
Disclaimer
By submitting your outfit for rating, you are agreeing to allow the use of your Character name, server name, guild name (if submitted), real life first name (if submitted. If a last name is included, it will not be used for privacy reasons), any description that you include (any submissions will be edited for profanity or crude language should it be used), and the posting of any screen shots submitted.
Submitting an outfit for rating
To have your transmog outfit rated, simply email it to thefashionablehunter@gmail.com with the subject line "<insert character name> Rate My Mog".
The email MUST contain the following 3 items
1. Character name, server name, and if you are Alliance or Horde. Optional real first name and guild name are acceptable as well.
2. A List of the displayable items your set is made of (no need to include rings, trinkets, necklace, or shirts if not visible) AND/OR a Wowhead dressing room link to your outfit. This link allows me to view it from any angle or distance, as well as to see any animations or other effects. If it is just a list sent in, I will search them and build the link myself.
3. A brief description of your outfit (why you chose those pieces, your favorite part of it, etc...).
Feel free to include any in-game screenshots of your outfit as well.
If the submission does not contain the 3 mandatory requirements it will not be accepted. A reply email will be sent clarifying what is missing from the submission.
Outfits are judged using the following criteria
Outfits will be rated based on my personal critique, and a rating out of 10.
I will focus on factors such as;
Color scheme: do the colors compliment or contrast in a way that brings it together?
Matching style/patterns: does the whole set look like it is made from metal? Or does it look like it was assembled out of a mix and match bin down at the bargain store?
Originality and creativity: is this a set made from unique pieces that happen to work when you put them together? Did you use an existing set and add just the right accenting pieces to really make it pop? Complete raid sets and one of a kind cobbled together outfits are judged on equal terms. The important thing is that the full outfit works (weapons, cloaks, shirts, tabards, etc...)
Character incorporation: How well does the set fit your character? Does it allow your unique traits to shine through (eyes, face, hair, skin colors, tusks or horns)?
Wow factor: Is my first impression of this outfit "nice!" or "eww.."
Bonus points: Extra points for matching mounts, hunter pets, and/or companion pets (obviously these aren't in the Wowhead dressing room, but may be submitted in the description or in an accompanying screen shot).
If any clarification of the rules is needed, please comment below.
